Obituary

Lillie Childs began her journey in life on November 7, 1953 to Mary Louise Jefferson in Shelby Mississippi. Her mother, three sisters: Pearlean Ware, Evoughn Ware and Betty Jones preceded her in death. Lillie was educated in the Leland Public School District. It was there that she met Willie Dennis. In 1972 she and Willie moved to Chicago Illinois where the had and raised 4 children: Vanessa Dennis, Larinzo Dennis, Donta Childs and Michelle Childs.
Lillie held positions in the restaurant industry as she loved to cook. Lillie’s true passion was helping and caring for the elderly. She held a long- term position at the Retreat Nursing home until health issues caused her to leave the field. Lillie was a strong, hardworking, kind and loving woman to her family, friends, and church community. There isn’t a single sole Lillie wouldn’t offer a home cooked meal to.
After what seems like a life time, Lillie said goodbye to Chicago in 2014 and moved to Springfield IL to be closer to her grandchildren. During the time she was there she made so many fond memories with her grandbabies Darius, Nariah and Nakira. After about 1.5yrs she moved to Georgia with her children Vanessa, Larinzo and Donta. Georgia is where she departed her earthly home to head for her eternal home and she will be forever missed.
Lillie’s memory will be forever in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves to carry on a legacy of love, two daughters: Vanessa Dennis of Woodstock GA and Michelle Bolden (Nevon) of Springfield IL; two sons: Larinzo Dennis (Lakehta) of Marietta GA and Donta Childs of Atlanta GA; She also leaves to cherish five grandchildren: Uniquequa Burns, Darius Herman, Nariah Bolden, Nakira Bolden and Larinzo Dennis Jr; two great- grandchildren: J’Nyla McDonald and Avah McDonald; two sister: Mary McCoy(Famous) and Shirley Ware (Milton); two brothers: James Childs and Ira Childs her twin brother and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

For my Dearest Friend,
I will forever miss you,Till we meet again on the other side there’s one thing that will never die that smile of yours I remember that would brighten up any room.Thank you Lillie for the laughs and the times we’ve shared together and the crying shoulder and most of all the Love you showed and gave my son like he was your grandson. Those special memories of you will always bring a smile and the fact you’re no longer here will always cause pain but you’re forever in my heart.
I will not say farewell for this definitely not a goodbye I know we will see each other again so for now my dearest friend and now that you got your Wings 🕊

I remember when my mom lived here I'm Springfield, one afternoon Nariah and Nakira was down there. Riah was 2 and Kira was 1. My mom stepped outside to get her mail out the box and Kira closed and locked the door🤦🏾‍♀️ My mom who by the way had her cellphone in hand AND I literally lived 90 seconds away, banged on a neighbor's door and convinced that man to kick her door in🤦🏾‍♀️😂 because me taking 90 seconds to get there was too long😂😂😂 After that she took her keys and Kira to the mailbox
