Obituary for Napoleon Giles

Napoleon Giles, better known as “Nap” or “Po”, was born to the union of Marshall and Ruth (Neil) Giles
(preceded him in death) on April, 1, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama. Po was born as the seventh child of
his mother’s fifteen children: Queenester*, Charles*, Idasphine*, Mary, Booker*, Dorothy, Betty, Carl,
Annette, Jerome, Shirley*, Michael, Denise and Rosalyn. Nap accepted Christ into life at Miracle Revival
Church in Maywood, IL.

Po was very bright, energetic as a young child. He had his very first job at the age of six!

He graduated from Brighton High School in 1961. Napoleon met his soon to be wife in 1962. He married
his long, time companion Ruby Daniel on October 07, 1967 in Chicago, Il. Mr. Giles entered the United
States Army on October 23, 1967. Nap obtained his electrical certification from the Devry Institute for
Technology in 1980 . As a young man Napoleon played semi-pro baseball and football in the 1970’s.

Napoleon worked for many companies. A couple of the companies that he was employed with the
longest during his work history was Belmont Steele and Hubbel Steele. During most of his work history
he the position of foreman, electrical engineer and machine mechanic.

Nap had a total of 10 children; Helen, Oscar, Jacqueline and Napoleon Jr* , Cheryl , Debrina , Victor,
Rodney, Ricky and Patricia)23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren

During his spare time enjoyed listening to music, watching sports and spending time with grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
