Life’s Reflections
Jermaine Cockrell was born on July 19, 1972, to James Cockrell Sr. and Bertha Cockrell, in Chicago, IL. He was the second of the three boys born to this union. As a child he was diligent to learn and earned his diploma from William Rainey Harper Industrial High School. Jermaine demonstrated willingness to work hard and committed twenty-seven years to Avis Budget Group. He was known at work for being quiet, polite, and cheerful. His faith and belief in God’s word was steadfast. He knew and trusted that his strength came from God. Jermaine was rooted in love and discipline as a young man. He never failed to display his golden heart through his actions and would give his last to anyone in need. His strength was exemplified through any challenge he encountered. Jermaine spent countless years ensuring his mother and father were well cared for during their golden years. Those that knew him understood his parents were the top priority. He was the glue in his family that kept everyone and things around him together. He was generous and had no enemies.
Jermaine found much pleasure in family time, dancing, listening to good music and joking with loved ones and his friends. He was very humble and could be trusted to handle any task at hand.
Jermaine accepted an assignment to wear his Crown in Eternal Life on September 2, 2022. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers: Abraham Cockrell and Wesley Griffin; grandmothers: Isabell Cockrell and Catherine Collier. He leaves to honor his memory: father- James Cockrell Sr.; mother- Bertha Cockrell; two brothers- James Cockrell Jr. and Jerome Cockrell; three nephews- James III, Justin and Josiah; great nephew- James IV; uncle- Wayne Griffin; Special
Sister- Shawna Howze; love of his life- Dorsey Wright; a host of cousins, family, friends and neighbors.
