Obituary for Carl C. Stadeker Sr.

Carl Clyde Stadeker, Sr. was born October 21, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to Ruby and Wiliam Stadeker, Jr.
In 1965, Carl joined the Chicago police force finishing 15 th in his class. He was promoted to Vice Detective
within a year and a half because of his accomplishments. His work as undercover detective helped to
mobilize the development of a crucial intelligence unit within the Chicago Police Department.

Sadly, after the death of his wife Gaye, with thoughtful consideration of the responsibility and dedication of
raising a son, he transferred to the role of community service officer in the field of youth motivation and
community relations. During his employment on the force, he received a total of six honorable mentions
for exceptional service.

In 1970, he resigned from the police force to work as a community relations supervisor for Illinois Bell
Telephone Company (now known as AT&T). Within a year, he was the only employee chosen, without a
college degree, to enter an accelerated management development program. During his career, he
assisted in the creation and implementation of the first black advertising on Illinois Bell telephone trucks.

Carl was a prolific thinker and entrepreneur. Carl confessed Christ in 1981 and was ordained in 1985. As
the internet became reality, he spoke often of the dramatic impact online church services could have on
advancing God’s kingdom worldwide. Among his many accomplishments was the patent for a life
preserver baton, a freelance writer and researcher for radio talk show and television programs. He was
featured in the Chicago Sun Times due to his extra-ordinary level of service and entrepreneurship as a
Chicago cab driver. Lastly, in 1978 he entered the remodeling and interior design business which he
continued to manage until he retired.

On December 7, 2021, Carl went home to be with our Lord. Carl was preceded in death by his parents,
wife Linda, brothers Andrew and Stacey. His daughter, Carlin (whom he tirelessly cared for until his
death), transitioned shortly after his death. He is survived by his sister, Adele, son, Carl Jr, children,
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

With love.

John 7:37-38
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him
come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow
rivers of living water’”
