Barbara Ann (Johnson) Scott was born on November 10th 1943, in Yazoo City, Mississippi,
where she was born to the parentage of her late mother Addie Sue Daniels. She was the oldest
of eight children: Vivian Rouse, Juanita Daniels, Diane Daniels, Benjamin Daniels. Addie B
Johnson & Sally Johnson, whom both preceded her in death.
Barbara came to Chicago, at the age of 4 years old. She graduated from St. Mary High School.
Barbara ran track and was quite the athlete, she went on to win numerous medals during her
track years.
Barbara was a devoted mother, wife, loving sister, aunt, grandmother and last but not least a
true friend. Most who knew Barbara called her Momma Scott.
“Momma Scott” was known for her candy store, and working odd jobs in the neighborhood to
help support her family. She was also known as one of the best cooks in the neighborhood, she
would cook for an army at all times. Barbara loved to laugh and make jokes especially about her
boys. One of her favorite sayings was “Jack”.
Barbara met the love of her life in 1963 Curtis Lee Scott and they got married August 7, 1976.
Barbara leaves her loving kids Hollis ( La Tonya), Ransom (Michele), Darlene (Robert), and
Debra Scott. Her two precious sons Victor (Big Vic) and Curtis(Jr.) who preceded her in death.
A host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
